Description

Plastic packaging that cannot be recycled, such as sandwich wrappers, strapping bands, potato chip bags, and cellophane for flower wrapping, is often contaminated or dirty, and therefore not suitable for recycling.

Collection

Collected in a baled fraction, in clear or pink bags, receptacles, containers and compactors.

Processing

Controlled visually by driver and upon arrival at waste reception facility. Here, the plastic is compacted before being sent for recycling.

Recycling

The plastic goes to the local waste-to-energy plant for energy extraction.

Non-compliance

A sorting fee may be charged if the item is not sorted into a homogeneous fraction. For example, non-packaging plastic (plastic toys, furniture).
